Guys, not sure if I’ve mentioned it enough times yet, but I am a blogger over at DiyReady.com. What’s that!? Yes, DIYREADY.COM! Well for the fourth I was inspired to DIY my own little getup. So
I begged my bosses to let me my bosses begged me to craft this little post for our loyal readers. CLICK IT:
When it comes to dressing up for the holidays I like to keep it low key: thematic, but not over the top. So I opted for 2 classic American looks, and topped them with a sun-hat covered in an American Flag Scarf to pull the look together
Look 1: (above) I am wearing a LBD with a fancy ruffled slip. My “southern” or “at the races” look, if you will. (Now where’s my Mint Julep, Y’ALL!?)
Look 2: (below) A plain white tank, denim cutoffs, bikini top, and artfully placed aviators. My “west coast” look. Cowabunga.
And WHERE oh WHERE did I get this FABULOUS AMERICAN FLAG SCARF!?!? Scarves.com, that’s where!

Let’s be honest, you probably own a lot of scarves. They are one of the best accessories because of their style and versatility, plus they’re pretty. The beauty of the scarf is also due to their being the ultimate accessory to your wardrobe staples. … Take Jessica Alba for example; have you ever seen her NOT looking fabulous in a scarf? One of the most recognized scarf-wearing-celebrities knows how to make an outfit rock with the addition of… Click here to keep reading on LadyMPresents.com!

With Spring just around the corner, you might be in a frenzy for a fresh new look! Lucky for you Spring’s trends are as chic and fresh as ever! One of my favorite looks is the white-out. Polar opposite to the black-out, but with just as much attitude! To wear this look mix and match any of your white pieces, use different textures, and add a pop of color to break it up. The best color for you to add this spring is… click here to keep reading on Daisys-World.com!
Some call it tomboy chic. I prefer Indiana Jones chic. What would Indiana Jones wear? A big hat, scruffy scarves – maybe a hanky, leather, a basic shirt, killer boots. As the world’s greatest action adventure hero, the man chose those clothes for a reason; and so should you! Add your own flair to his classic look and make it your own! At least that’s how I’ve been feeling fashion-wise lately.
Below you’ll see some IJ inspired looks, with their own touch of femme fatale.
wear anything Madewell
add a hat
a touch of leopard, a touch of plaid
make it sporty
some closets just make sense.

It is finally fall! I really am dying to wear scarves and boots and tights… but here in California it’s still a scorching 80 degrees outside. My office is air-conditioned, but I can’t bare the idea of tights in that kind of heat. So here you see outfits that express the slow transition between summer and fall.
My fashion includes neutral elements combined with classic closet staples, stripes, and lots of black white and gray with a few color pops. I like being consistent and I do not like looking girly. I prefer wearing basic elements and adding color and character through an accessory, which is often something as basic as lipstick. I also ride a scooter and must be mindful of what I can wear while I ride. My leather jacket is a perfect fit, and my skirts are tight so they will not blow in the wind and cause drag.
Here is a small gallery of some outfits I have worn. Photos taken by me with an iPhone 4, posed in front of a large mirror in my room. If only I had a better camera and someone to help me take nicer photos… Sigh, this will do for now.
Black and yellow, black and yellow, black and yellow.
Black with brown shoes.
Black and white, add stripes, add texture.
Here you see a hat, an ear cuff, and a headband… The headband is my signature piece, I love headbands because they give character to my rather plain ensembles.
Once again, I apologize these aren’t better quality, the dream is in the making. You can help me achieve my dream of high quality photo shoots to share with my followers by subscribing to this blog, leaving comments below, and connecting with me… 😉

Now I only think about Los Angeles when the sun kicks out (Pink Rabbits | The National)
Lucky for us the sun did kick out, just on time as we were in the city celebrating our favorite band’s movie preview! Here is a quick fix of what Caitlyn and I wore to the Mistaken For Strangers screening in Los Angeles.
Here I am in my “Loose Lips Sink Ships” t-shirt, inspired by The National‘s song Cherry Tree. This shirt is fitting because Mistaken For Strangers is a movie about The National, and Cherry Tree is such a great song, and Loose Lips Sink Ships is such a great saying. In this shirt I can do no wrong. I’m also wearing a black blazer, denim shorts (cause it’s summer!) and suede booties.
Caitlyn is wearing her favorite polka dot skirt, also with booties and a tank top. A cute get up for any long summers day of sight seeing and obsessing over our favorite band.
To make this shirt more comfortable I cut the sleeves off. The art of cutting sleeves, as seen in my previous post “Rock Your Style” is in exposing the right amount of skin. If you just clipped your shirt down the sides, you would expose too much skin in the front, and not enough in the back. That is why I first cut off the sleeves along the stitch line, then I turn the shirt around and trim out the back, dipping lower and towards the center and work my way up. Once you have the shirt on you can stretch out the opening with your thumbs to give it a natural looking finish. And remember, this is your shirt – Rock it however you want!
