I found the 24 Hour Strep Throat Cure!!!
The FIRST THING is to recognize signs of strep throat early. Seriously!! You must notice the symptoms of strep throat before they wipe you out.
But how can you tell if you have strep throat symptoms? These details and strep throat pictures may help…

Have I said the word strep throat enough to catch your attention?
I hope so. Because I seriously want to share this home remedy with EVERYONE!
As a back story, please note that this has worked for me. It was July 2, 2015. (That’s 2 days before the best day of the year for all you Americans), and I was out sick.
SICK! WAAAAAH!?!? I’m never sick!
Gosh darn if only I’d known it was strep throat sooner. Not tonsilitis. Not a sore throat. STREP THROAT.
So how can you tell if you have strep throat? How did I know?
These Were My Strep Throat Symptoms:
1. My throat hurt
2. I had no other symptoms of being sick (no runny nose, no fever, no drowsiness…)
3. I could not swallow
4. My uvula was swollen.
…My uvula had swelled up to the size of a gum drop. (Usually they’re the size of a tic tac). GROSSSSSS!
I don’t want to post any pictures of my strep throat symptoms, because this is my pretty blog full of pretty photos, so if you really must see what this looked like, you may click HERE.
…But Really, DON’T CLICK HERE for strep throat pictures. IT’S SUPER GROSS.
Ok. So what did I do? But more importantly,
How Can You Beat Strep Throat in 24 Hours?
Keep Following Along… 😉
1. Get Thee to an Infirmary!
I rolled up to the Urgent Care Center in DTLA – luckily no line awaited. They swabbed my throat with a q-tip (GROSS), did a 5 minute lab test, declared I was strep-throat positive, THEN:
Male nurse knocks twice, slowly opens door: Ma’am, it’s positive. They’re going to give you the shot. #hospitaldrama #irl #strepthroat 💉😷

2. Get a Penicillin Shot To the Butt (YOUCH!)
This was a big shot too. It took like 20 seconds.
If you hate shots you can always do the pill thing, but the shot is one-and-done. Pills are some-and-then-some. Especially since it’s strep throat and swallowing hurts like a mother hen.
Just do the shot guys.
So after that I decided to take the day off work. I needed to relax and let my body fight. I also needed to be away from people since this little bacterial infection is seriously contagious for the next 24 hours.
3. Go Shopping:
Not fun shopping (I wish).
I’m talking drug store or grocery store shopping. (I started feeling rather tired after the shot, so make your purchases quickly!)
For STREP THROAT, Buy:
- Throat Lozenges
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Gallons of Unsweetened Arizona Green Tea
- Chicken Broth
- Ramen / Any Soup
- Cough Drops
Let me paint you a picture with emojis of the story so far:
(for Apple) 😷💉🍵🍋🍯🍜🍬
Haha. Cute right? Say it with emojis or don’t say it at all…
4. Green Tea All Day
I bought the Arizona Green Tea by the Ga(zero calorie version), and I prepared it hot on the stove top. I mixed in the honey and lemon, and drank this miracle beverage all day long.
5. Throat Lozenges
I popped the lozenges like it was my job.
And I swam in that hot ramen with chicken broth till the cows came home.
(can you tell I also write for a homesteading blog by day – PioneerSettler.com – check it out)
7. More Lozenges
Let’s back up to the lozenges though. What is a throat lozenge exactly? It’s the best. It’s like a cough drop, but better. It dissolves in the throat, coating it and numbing it on the way down.
Without the lozenge I was nothing. With the lozenge I, well… I could at least swallow.
But best of all, my fear of my throat caving in on itself and my suffocating at home alone in my jammies 2 days before the best day of the year eradicated! HALLELUJAH.
8. Then I Waited
24 hours they say? Alright… let’s hope so.
Ok….. it’s morning. my throat is still swollen….. My uvula is still a sight for sore
BUT I WANT TO BE BETTER! I WANT TO GO OUT AND PLAY AND HAVE FUN!!! It’s July 3rd. I HAVE to be better by tomorrow!
And that’s when it hit me.
The clock struck noon, I opened my mouth to sigh…
and it didn’t hurt!!!
I could breathe!
I could swallow!!
I could SPEAK!!!
The curse was lifted,
MY STREP WAS GONE!!!!
I continued to eat smart and take my lozenges, but I had BEATEN THE STREP. Why? Because I had gone in and gotten that shot ASAP. It only took 24 hours and I was back in actions! I wasn’t 100%, but hey, 80% is still good enough for a fun weekend.
Here’s a graphic so you can “Pin Now, Remember Later” –
So what are you going to do the next time you think you have strep?
Check for signs and go to the doctor! The sooner you fill your body with bacteria-fighting antibodies the better. Hooray!!!
But what if it’s NOT Strep Throat?
Well the nurse said one of the main signs he could see was that I had no other symptoms. Though common symptoms of strep throat do include fever, and also white lumps in the back of the throat. I really couldn’t see my throat past the swollen uvula, so who knows.
Since you’ve made it this far though, I’ll include the other symptoms and signs of sore throat that aren’t about me. Meaning, this next part is for you! You’re still reading, so obviously I haven’t answered your questions yet.
I’m not a doctor, so I’ll let real Google Doctors answer this for you:
